Basics Apartments

Located in Framingham, MA, this residential program serves persons with mental illness and focuses on psychosocial rehabilitation for consumers between the ages of 19 - 39, including those with multiple needs such as hearing or sight impairments.

The goal of this program is to teach people with mental illness the skills necessary to live in the community. These skills include symptom management, stress management, and socialization.

Basics has apartments on-site and supports consumers in the community as well. Each consumer has a primary counselor who meets with them on a scheduled basis. Through these meetings, a treatment plan is developed where goals and objectives are created based around those needs.

At Basics, we work with the Department of Mental Health, day programs, other vendors, therapists, and psychiatrists, to offer a continuum of personal care.

Take the Mass. Pike West to exit 13 (Route 30 Framingham - Natick). Follow Route 30 into Framingham, passing by Shoppers World on the left and the Framingham Mall on the right. After passing Mc Donald's and Burger King on the left hand side, you will come to an intersection with a Shell Gas Station in front of you. Take a left. You will now be on Route 126. Follow Route 126 past the court house, continue until you come to a Dunkin Donuts and a set of lights. Take a right on to Lincoln Street. Follow about 300 yards and take left on to Henry Street. Follow Henry Street to the end (it is a short street). At the end you will see the Mass. Prevention Center and to the left of it is a large brick building with creme pillars. This is 154 Union Avenue/Basics (pictured above). The program is located across the street from Sullivan Tire.
