Atlantic Clubhouse

A community support program for adults (age 18 and over) who have been diagnosed with a mental illness,  Atlantic Clubhouse is open for regular clubhouse business Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 5 p.m., 365 days a year.

The clubhouse social program is available to members Thursday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and holidays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 3 p.m.

We are able to serve mental health consumers with Axis I diagnosis in the Quincy area. Our catchment area includes Milton, Randolph, Braintree, Quincy, Weymouth, Hingham, Hull, Cohasset, Norwell, and Scituate.

Service Impact

Members who use our employment and educational services are able to achieve their career objectives. Those who participate in our TE program are more likely to be successful in obtaining and sustaining independent employment.

Atlantic House provides advocacy services that allow members to fully access all clubhouse and community services including but not limited to the Social Security Administration, doctor's appointments, travel training, shopping food pantry, fuel assistance, etc.

Referrals to other services in the community are also provided as needed. The housing unit has been successful in locating and moving members into independent housing situations.

The family project has been successful in providing legal and parenting supports, allowing families to be reunited.

The clubhouse offers two "dual recovery" meetings weekly to help consumers maintain sobriety, as well as to be successful in other areas of their life.

Services Offered

A major component of any clubhouse is its employment program.

We provide employment opportunities through transitional employment placements (TEP), and supported employment placements (SEP).

The clubhouse also provides housing and educational supports.

There is a social component for evenings and weekends.

The clubhouse has a "Family Project Unit" to assist members with families that may need parenting and other related supports and, through a HUD grant, for Shelter Plus provides subsidies for homeless custodial parents.

A (DRA)" Dual Recovery" Anonymous meeting is held on every Wednesday 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. for those with both a mental illness and substance abuse problem. There is also a substance abuse education meeting every Friday at 12 noon, which is open to all members and staff.
